You’ve planned your wedding.  You picked your dress.  The invitations are sent.  The cake is ordered.  The floral arrangements have been designed.  Now comes the hardest question of all…what song should we play for the first dance?

When you book Electra Entertainment, not only are you booking one of the premier Maryland Wedding DJ companies, but you also get the advice from Electra’s founder, DJ Josh.

“There are three simple things to remember about picking your first dance,” Levine Said.

1.  Pick a song you will have fun dancing too.

“A lot of people think they need a slow, romantic ballad that talks about love.  While that is great for some couples, it only makes other couples nervous and tense,” Josh says.  “Pick a song that shows off your personalities as individuals and as a couple.”

Some fun crazy First Dances we have seen include:

Jagged Edge ft. RUN DMC – Let’s Get Married (remix)

Beyonce – Crazy in Love

Rascal Flats – Life is a Highway

2. Listen to the lyrics

There are a lot of great songs that people think are perfect for first dances.  But when you listen to the lyrics they are anything but.   Make sure whatever song you choose, make sure to listen to the lyrics and the song makes sense for a first dance.

Some popular ballad slows dances have included:

KC & JoJo – All My Life

Lonestar – Amazed

Tim McGraw – It’s Your Love

3.  Don’t stress

That’s right no need to stress.  This is a celebration.  No one gets a trophy for the best first dance song.  Pick a song you like and can have fun with.
